In support of our college students AUMC sends care packages as they begin to prepare for their midterm and final exams. We have about 15-20 college students again this year! Last year’s recipients were very appreciative of the goodies they received as well as the notes of encouragement from their church family. At the Charge Conference, our district superintendent, Rev. Harriet Bryan, said that she still remembers the care boxes she received from her church. So, as you can see, this has a long standing impact on our students.
If you have or know of a college student, please provide their name and college mailing address to the church office. We want to make sure we include all of our college students.
The best items to donate are pens, pencils, highlighters, sticky notes, candy, crackers, microwaveable popcorn, healthy snacks, instant drink mixes, personal notes or cards, etc. At the appropriate times of the year we place a collection box in the Narthex labeled “College Students Care Package Donations”. Monetary donations to purchase care package supplies may be given to either Vicki Wallace or Jane Logston.
